We know that books have the power to open doors, spark imaginations, and change futures. We are thrilled to share the incredible story of H.A. Jack Primary School’s newly restored library - a project that has already begun transforming lives.
For years, H.A. Jack was without a functional library. In communities where resources are scarce, this meant that countless learners missed out on the joy of reading and the critical literacy skills that a library can nurture.

Thanks to your support, that reality has changed. Together with Community Assisting Schools (CAS) and other generous partners, the school’s library was completely restored and revitalised - transforming what was once a neglected space into a vibrant hub for learning, exploration, and growth.
Vintage with Love is proud to have sponsored the books for the library, made possible through the incredible generosity of Exclusive Books. Each book now carries a special sticker that reads “Thanks to Vintage with Love” - a special reminder to every learner who opens those pages that they are supported by a wider community that believes in their future.
VWL and hundreds of others, spent a few hours on Mandela Day covering each book in plastic, with love.
This new library does more than provide access to books. It stands as a beacon of hope, empowering teachers, learners, and the wider school community to dream bigger and reach further.

The library project was part of a bigger picture at H.A. Jack. CAS has already been hard at work: renovating kitchens for the feeding scheme, supporting remedial teachers, building new facilities, and ensuring that learners have the stationery and resources they need to thrive. Re-establishing the library was the next vital step and seeing it come to life has been nothing short of inspiring.
Shelves are now filled with stories that ignite imaginations and knowledge that builds futures. It’s proof of what happens when generosity and purpose come together, when your pre-loved clothing becomes something powerful, helping to write brighter futures for South Africa’s children.
Because today a reader...tomorrow a leader.
With love,
Tracey Butler
