Clear out your cupboard for 67 minutes this Mandela Day.

In honour of Mandela Day this year, Vintage with Love is so excited to announce an exciting new collaboration with Melrose Arch for a Mandela Month Clothing Drive.

As with everything VWL sets out to do, this initiative aims to support education and literacy in South Africa, aligning with Nelson Mandela's enduring legacy of making a positive impact on the lives of others.

So in honour of this incredible legacy we want to encourage you to take just 67 minutes of your time - a symbolic gesture representing Mandela's 67 years of public service - to clean out your closet. Simply fill a black bin bag with items in great confidition, that you no longer need, love, or wear, and drop them off at the David Tlale store in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg. Or if you're in Cape Town, at one of our VWL drop off points or our store!

Make a difference this Mandela Day!

By taking time to do this simple act of kindness, you will be making a significant difference in the lives of so many. Each item collected from you will be sold at pop-up events and in-store sales by Vintage with Love. The proceeds from these sales directly support literacy and education programs for the youth of South Africa. With more than R9 million raised to date, Vintage with Love's efforts have made a powerful impact and none of it would be possible without your generous donations.

As little as R200, made from selling one of your second hand pieces, is enough to sponsor a child in a loving home for a month, providing them with a safe environment to foster educational growth and development. Moreover, a t-shirt sold for R50 is enough to keep a child in a reading program for a whole week. This illustrates how small contributions can lead to substantial change in this country and how your items of clothing that sit in your cupboard year after year, can be used to change the lives of so many.

How you can get involved:

Donate: Between the 8th of July and the 4th of August, pop into Melrose Arch and drop off your gently worn clothing at the David Tlale store located at Shop H68EF, Slip Street or if you're in Cape Town, don't worry, you can drop off at our shop in Canterbury street.

Share: Spread the word on social media and tag @vintagewithlovesa and @melrosearch.

Support: Encourage friends and family to participate this Mandela Month and help us reach our goal of raising funds for literacy and education.

Shop: After dropping off your bag of gently-worn at Melrose Arch, why not pop into our new JHB store around the corner and do some shopping for a great cause. It's guilt-free shopping at it's finest.

Park-off for Literacy

To finish off the month of honouring Madiba, come join us for a park-off celebration in collaboration with Melrose Arch and Superkids Trust. Super car enthusiasts - come park your cars, join us for a coffee and a sense of community to interact with fellow supercar lovers. Entry to the event will be a bag of gently-worn clothing which will be donated to Vintage with Love.

This event is more than just a gathering of car enthusiasts; it's an opportunity to make a significant impact in honour of Mandela Day and Nelson Mandela's legacy. By donating your gently-worn clothing, you directly support educational programs that help shape the future of our youth.

So join us at High street, Melrose Arch on Sunday the 4th of August between 10h00-12h00, bring a bag of gently-worn clothing to make a difference and park-off your super car in support of literacy and in honour of Mandela.

Together, we can honour Mandela's legacy and change the future of the youth in

South Africa, one gently-worn item at a time.

With love,

The Vintage team
